Folk music endures because one generation passes the tradition(s) on to the next.  That generation, in turn, adds its own flavor and context to the music. So it has been from Woody Guthrie to Bob Dylan to contemporary young people such as Rufus Wainwright, Martha Wrainwright, and Jason Lang (who is performing with his mother, Penny, at this year's festival).  That is why the Apple Hollow Music Fest is proud to have its "Rising Stars Stage".  Aimed at allowing primarily elementary school age children the opportunity to perform in front of an audience, it will also allow these young people to interact with our featured performers such as Willie Dunn, Bruce Murdoch, Penny Lang, Jesse Winchester and others.  Further planning about our Rising Stars Stage and how you can sign-up a young person to perform will be announced on this site.         Stay tuned.
